- Dr. king was a nice, noble, self-respected, man. He lived for peace. He
believed EVERYONE should get treated equally. He also was one of the
most famous civil rights movements leaders. Followers of MLK included
Malcolm X and Rosa Parks, the leader of the Bus Boycott.
- Six months after Brown vs. Board of Education, Rosa Parks was arrested.
News came to her church. One woman said, “If negroes did not ride the
buses, they could not operate. Therefore, we’re asking all negroes to
stay off the buses Monday in protest of the arrest and trial.”

Washington High School and was admitted to Morehouse College at age 15
and Graduates from Morehouse College at age 19.
King Marries Coretta Scott and settles in Montgomery, Alabama.
- He Joins the bus boycott
after Rosa Parks was arrested on December 1st.
- During the unsuccessful
Albany, Georgia movement, King is arrested on July 27, 1962 and jailed.
He is released.
- At sunset on April 4, Martin
Luther King, Jr. is fatally shot while standing on the balcony of the
Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee. On November 2, a national holiday
is proclaimed in King's honor.

- Some of the speeches, he gave were the “I Have A Dream” , and it helped
promote the acceptance of different people. He boycotted around buses,
and other places, and he was a believer of acceptance, and that’s what
made him so powerful within his words, not violence.
